Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, received the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Mr Ignazio Cassis, and his delegation at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The high-level meeting is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and Switzerland, with discussions expected to focus on trade, migration, and human capital development.
Accompanying Cassis were his spouse, Paola Rodoni Cassis, along with senior Swiss officials including Ambassador Patricia Danzig (Director, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation), Ambassador Philip Stalder (Head, Africa Division), Ambassador Tim Enderlin (Head, Peace and Human Rights Division), and Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Patrick Egloff.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, was also present at the reception.The visit underscores ongoing efforts to deepen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
