Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 1,000 cartons of assorted food items to the National Mosque in Abuja to support vulnerable families observing the holy month of Ramadan.
The donation, handed over on Monday, includes essential staples such as rice, seasoning, salt, cooking oil, tomato paste, and other household necessities designed to help ease the financial strain on fasting households during the period of spiritual reflection and charity.
Representing the First Lady at the presentation ceremony, Chairman of the National Mosque Welfare Committee, Mallam Abubakar Sadiq, received the items and conveyed deep appreciation for the thoughtful gesture.
Mallam Sadiq commended Senator Tinubu’s consistent support for humanitarian causes and highlighted the significance of the donation in providing relief to needy families at a time when food prices remain high and many struggle to meet basic needs.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts by the First Lady and her office to promote compassion, community welfare, and assistance to the less privileged, especially during religious observances that emphasize giving and solidarity.
The National Mosque, a central place of worship and community gathering in the Federal Capital Territory, serves as a key distribution point for such aid to reach those most in need across Abuja and surrounding areas.
This latest act of generosity adds to Senator Tinubu’s record of interventions in health, education, and poverty alleviation programs throughout her tenure.
