Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a pastor and two other men for allegedly being in possession of suspected human flesh (intestine).
The suspects are: Oyategbe Joseph (pillion rider on an unregistered motorcycle), Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo (46), and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo (55).According to the police, the trio were apprehended during a stop-and-search operation along the Adekile area of Agugu in Ibadan on Tuesday.
A police statement said the patrol team intercepted the motorcycle and, upon searching the pillion rider, recovered a package containing flesh suspected to be human parts.
“Oyategbe Joseph confessed that he obtained the suspected human parts from an unknown individual at the Oritaperin area and sold them to Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo,” the statement added.
The two buyers also confessed to purchasing the items from Joseph.All three suspects are currently in police custody and have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further discreet investigation.
The Oyo State Police Command has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any information regarding the possession or sale of human parts to the nearest police station.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
