Nigerian Army Pulls Out 18 Generals After 35 Years of Meritorious Service

The Nigerian Army has formally pulled out 18 senior officers of the rank of Major General after they completed 35 years of distinguished service to the nation.

The pull-out ceremony, which marked the official retirement of the generals, was held in line with the Nigerian Army’s policy on service duration and age limits for officers.

The retiring generals have served in various capacities, including command positions, staff roles, and operational deployments across different theatres of operation in Nigeria.

A statement from the Army described the officers as having contributed immensely to national security and the growth of the Nigerian Army.

Their exit creates room for younger officers to take up leadership positions as part of the military’s succession planning.

The Chief of Army Staff is expected to address the retiring generals, commending their loyalty, sacrifice, and dedication to duty throughout their careers.

This latest pull-out is part of routine retirement exercises carried out periodically by the Nigerian Army to ensure a balanced age and rank structure within the force.

The retired generals will now proceed to enjoy their well-deserved retirement benefits while many are expected to continue contributing to national development in various sectors.

Further details on the identities of the retiring generals and highlights of the ceremony are expected to be released by the Nigerian Army’s Directorate of Public Relations in due course.
