Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a bold political prophecy, claiming that a potential presidential ticket pairing former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso would significantly disrupt the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In remarks delivered during a recent church service and subsequently shared online, the cleric described the speculated alliance as a formidable force capable of making the upcoming general election far more competitive than anticipated.
He specifically stated that such a combination would give the current APC-led administration under President Bola Tinubu "a very tough time."“It’s going to be Jonathan, Kwankwaso on that ticket, and it’s going to give APC Tinubu government a very tough time,” Ayodele declared.
The prophecy comes amid ongoing speculation about opposition strategies ahead of the 2027 presidential race, where the APC seeks to retain power. Ayodele emphasized that the election would not be straightforward for the ruling party. “It’s not going to be an easy election. No, it’s not,” he insisted, hinting at possible major shifts in the political landscape before voters go to the polls.
To strengthen this potential challenge, the spiritual leader advised Kwankwaso to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), suggesting the platform could serve as a base for building a robust opposition coalition and fielding a strong presidential duo.
Ayodele further claimed that the Jonathan-Kwankwaso pairing might draw support from international quarters, adding another layer of pressure on the APC.
While political alliances and candidacies remain fluid and unconfirmed, Ayodele's comments have reignited discussions about possible opposition realignments and their potential to upend the status quo in Nigeria's evolving political scene.
