Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and prominent social media commentator, has described the security challenges facing Nigeria as entirely man-made.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe accused some Nigerian politicians of sponsoring terrorism and violence for selfish political interests.
He claimed that politicians who lose elections often instigate insecurity by sponsoring “uneducated street urchins” to create chaos and “score cheap political points.”
“The so-called insecurity in Nigeria is man made. When idiots and criminals lose elections they sponsor uneducated street urchins to go create insecurity to score cheap political points. Evil cannot triumph over good. They will fail,” Igbokwe wrote.
Despite his strong criticism, the APC stalwart expressed optimism that those plotting to plunge the nation into further chaos would not succeed.
The statement comes amid ongoing concerns over banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and other forms of violence across different parts of the country.
