Son of the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Busari Adelakun (Eruobodo), Prince Kunle Adelakun, has declared his intention to contest for the governorship ticket of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State in 2027.
He said with support of residents, he would be sworn in as governor on May 29, 2027.
Declaring his ambition in Ibadan, the politician said his aspiration was born out of his people-centred agenda anchored on economic growth, social welfare and infrastructural development.
The Ibadan-born politician said his candidature represented a mission that must be fulfilled, adding that his governorship bid was rooted in strong desire to reposition Oyo State for development.
‘Eruobodo Junior’ emphasised on his “People-Oriented Development (POD)” framework, which he said would guide his administration if elected.
He said key priority areas would include education, health care, agriculture, security and economic expansion.
“Our goal is to ensure citizens have access to quality life and services that will enable them enjoy the full dividends of democracy.”
The governorship aspirant pledged to empower youths, women and small-scale entrepreneurs through skills development and financial support, while also promising to modernise agriculture by providing farmers with improved tools and access to fund.
He promised to build new roads, rehabilitate existing ones and improve rural connectivity to stimulate trade and economic activities across the state.
