Idia Aisien, the Nigerian-American actress, has opened up about a difficult experience in one of her past relationships.
In an interview on Toke’s
Moment, the actress revealed that she used to assist partners
financially during difficult times, believing that early support influences how
they treat you in the future.
She shared that she once helped an ex-lover with his
investment, only to later discover he had secretly used the money to take a
“popular lady” on a vacation.
She added that her brother spotted them and sent her
photographic evidence, but her ex-lover denied it when she confronted him.
“I used to spend money on guys. If they complained that
their business wasn’t doing well, I would give them a couple of millions. At
the time, I was dating to marry, so I didn’t want my partner to struggle; I
tried to help when he was trying to invest in something,” she said.
“I believed that if you help a guy in the beginning, later
when he’s better, he will help you in return, and that how you treat him is how
he will eventually treat you.
“There was an ex I gave money to when he said his business
was down. Later, his phone suddenly stopped going through, but I later found
out he had flown a popular girl to Dubai.
“He insisted his phone was having issues, but one of my
brothers told me they saw him with another woman and even had picture evidence.
When I confronted him, he first said it was his friends who forced him to go on
the trip, then later claimed it was also for business.”
Aisien started acting in 2017. She gained prominence in 2020
with her lead role in the remake of the 1994 Nollywood horror-mystery film
‘Nneka: The Pretty Serpent’.
