Hon. Dr. Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas has officially resigned from his position as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), where he represented the North-East Zone.
The resignation paves the way for his political ambition as he has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State. Namdas, a former spokesman of the House of Representatives and a veteran politician from Ganye in Adamawa State, made the declaration recently, signaling a major shift in his career focus toward state-level leadership.
Born on January 1, 1969, Namdas brings a rich background in journalism, academia, and public service to his gubernatorial bid. He previously served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa Governor Boni Haruna and has held various prominent roles, including representing his constituency in the National Assembly. His experience on the NDDC board, where he contributed to development initiatives in the Niger Delta region, is expected to bolster his profile as a candidate with broad administrative exposure.
Political observers view Namdas’ move as a strategic step amid preparations for the 2027 polls in Adamawa State. His declaration has already sparked discussions within political circles, with some stakeholders expressing support for his renewed hope agenda under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.
As the race for Adamawa’s governorship heats up, Namdas’ resignation from the NDDC is seen as a clear indication of his commitment to fully dedicating himself to the contest. Further details on his campaign strategies and potential running mate are expected in the coming weeks.
