Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has emphasized purposeful leadership as key to strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State and consolidating support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027.
The governor made the statement during his maiden meeting with APC stakeholders in Yola on Monday, shortly after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) along with his political structure and government allies.
Fintiri described his defection as the beginning of a new political chapter for Adamawa, guided by long-term stability and development rather than personal ambition. He pledged unwavering loyalty to the APC and urged former PDP members joining the party to integrate with discipline, maturity, loyalty, and unity.
The meeting focused on unifying the party, harnessing the strength from new members, and building a solid structure to deliver decisive victories for President Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
APC National Vice Chairman (North-East), Mustapha Salihu, and Minister of Livestock Development, Muktar Idi Maiha, welcomed the governor's move and the alignment of the PDP structure in Adamawa as a major boost.
They promised full cooperation, describing the party as one united and indivisible family.The stakeholders' gathering has laid the foundation for effective collaboration between longstanding APC members and newcomers, positioning the party to capitalize on its enhanced strength in the state ahead of the 2027 polls.
