A princess of Osi Ekiti and healthcare professional, Funmi Fagboyo, has declared her support for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
Fagboyo, a pharmacist, hosted leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osi Ekiti on Monday, where she pledged to mobilise strong support for the governor’s second-term bid.
She said Governor Oyebanji’s transformative and people-centred leadership, especially his achievements in infrastructure, healthcare and education, convinced her to join the APC and actively participate in politics.
“I appreciate the governor for his transformative leadership, his people-centric nature and commitment to infrastructure development, healthcare and education.
"Governor Oyebanji’s achievements in Ekiti State are a testament to his dedication to public service,” she said.
“These are what attracted me to the party and politics. I’m proud to join the APC and work tirelessly in support of the governor’s re-election bid.”
APC State Chairman, Sola Elesin, assured the people of Osi Ekiti of continued development, saying the party recognised the community’s contributions to the state and would ensure its progress.
Other APC leaders at the event commended Fagboyo for promoting the governor’s achievements and also pledged their full support for Oyebanji’s re-election.
Governor Oyebanji, the APC candidate, is seeking a second term against candidates from 13 other political parties, including Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
