Creatives, media personalities and industry insiders gathered at the BYD showroom in Victoria Island for the private premiere of Hey BYD, a new podcast concept that blends storytelling with electric mobility.
The show, hosted by actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Suleiman, takes a different approach to podcasting by moving conversations out of the studio and into the BYD Atto 3, the brand’s fully electric SUV.
The premiere event, which took place on Friday, March 13, 2026, brought together several personalities featured in the series, including actress Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, filmmaker and reality TV personality Elozonam Ogbolu, content creator Folustorms, actor Charles Born and chef and storyteller Chef Amaka.
In the series, Suleiman drives through Lagos with guests while engaging them in relaxed conversations about their careers, passions and creative journeys. The moving setting gives the podcast a more spontaneous feel, with the city itself becoming part of the storytelling.
The evening also featured a comedy performance by comedian Makinde David, which kept guests entertained and added energy to the event.
Attendees later had the opportunity to explore the BYD Atto 3 up close and learn more about the electric vehicle that serves as the mobile set for the podcast.
Episodes of Hey BYD are expected to be released weekly on YouTube.
