Bago Inaugurates APC Digital Media Sub-Committee Ahead of National Convention

Niger State Governor Umaru Bago on Tuesday inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) digital and new media sub-committee in Abuja, as the party prepares for its national convention scheduled for March 27 and 28 at Eagle Square.

Bago, who chairs the sub-committee, urged members to ensure effective communication before, during, and after the convention.

He stressed the need to leverage social media platforms to highlight President Bola Tinubu’s achievements and ongoing government efforts while addressing existing communication gaps.

“We plan to reach millions worldwide with messages from the convention,” Bago said.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who serves as co-chairman, called for a deliberate and coordinated digital strategy to showcase the party’s achievements and policy direction.

“We are depending on you so much to reach millions of our members in their homes. It is your duty to use all digital platforms, without restrictions, to showcase what we have done,” Kalu stated.

He added that the convention is more than an internal event: “We are not just doing a national convention; we are showcasing to the world that there is a party in Africa that believes in the principles of democracy and puts the people first.”

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Ortega Ogra, said the committee aims to reach at least 100 million Nigerians and broadly 400 million people across the world using various digital tools.

The inauguration marks a key step in the APC’s strategy to strengthen its digital presence and effectively communicate the party’s message ahead of the major gathering.
