Atiku Meets ADC South-East Leaders in Abuja for 2027 Talks

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar held a high-stakes closed-door meeting last night at the Abuja residence of Sir Chikwe Udensi, a prominent ADC chieftain and security expert, with key South-East leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other influential Igbo political figures.

The session focused on forging political collaboration, building alliances, and strategizing for the party's upcoming presidential primary ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The gathering included notable attendees such as Senator Augustine Akobundu, Chief Chekwas Okorie, former Minister of State for Education Emeka Nwajiuba, Dr. Osita Oruche, Prof. Onyi Nwagbara, Chief Uchenna Okogbuo, former ADC National Chairman Chief Ralph Nwosu, Hon. Uzoma Abonta, Hon. Uko Nkole, Etigwe Uwah (SAN), Dr. Steve Nwadiuko, Chief Morris Eboh, Senator Frank Ibezim, and Dr. Dave Eboh, among others.

Sources describe the discussions as centering on strengthening consensus in the South-East, positioning the ADC as a strong national platform, and exploring broader coalitions amid recent political realignments and defections to the party.

This meeting highlights Atiku's continued efforts to rally support and consolidate influence within the ADC as preparations for the 2027 presidential race intensify.
