The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has launched a mobilisation initiative tagged ‘One ADC Movement’ aimed at strengthening party unity and preparing members for the 2027 general election.
Speaking at the unveiling in Abuja on Wednesday, Lauretta
Onochie, former chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), said
the initiative was created to unite members of the party across the country and
foster reconciliation where disagreements exist.
Onochie said the movement is designed to reinforce unity
within the party, noting that collective interest must take precedence over
individual ambitions.
“The movement is to help strengthen our unity at all levels.
So, I urge all our supporters to work together for meaningful results,” she
said.
She added that many Nigerians are watching the political
landscape with expectations and concerns, particularly about whether political
parties can overcome internal divisions and serve the people effectively.
“Nigerians are asking an important question: can political
parties rise above internal divisions and truly serve the people? Our answer
today is yes,” Onochie said.
“The One ADC Movement is built on a simple but powerful
principle — unity is the greatest strength of any political party.”
She said political parties should be seen not only as
platforms for elections but also as communities where members work together
toward common goals despite differences.
