A coalition led by Prof. Pat Utomi is set to unveil a new digital platform called “Obidient Connect” next month, aimed at turning the Obidient Movement into a structured, nationwide grassroots political force.
The civic-tech initiative is designed to organise Nigerians down to the polling unit level covering all 176,864 polling units and is projected to onboard over 20 million citizens at home and in the diaspora.
According to coalition insiders, the platform will rest on four key pillars:
Connect: Linking citizens to their polling units and diaspora networks.
Organise: Coordinating mobilisation, training, and civic education.
Donate: Enabling transparent funding for voter education and related activities.
Deliver: Ensuring effective participation and vote protection at the grassroots.
The group has begun rallying state coordinators and is partnering with diaspora organisations, including US-based “Naija We Can,” for broader reach and fundraising.
Promoters describe it as the “operating system for citizen-led democracy” and a major step toward building sustainable structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
