Troops Neutralise Senior Boko Haram Commander, Arrest Drone Supplier in Adamawa

Troops from Operation HADIN KAI, working alongside local vigilantes and hunters, dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram activities in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

On Thursday, around 5:30 p.m., security forces ambushed suspected Boko Haram militants along the Visik River line. The encounter resulted in the neutralization of a key figure identified as Abdullahi Mafa, described as a former hybrid commander operating in the Madagali area.

Later that evening, at approximately 6:30 p.m., troops conducted a targeted raid at the Madagali Motor Park. There, they apprehended 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, accused of collaborating with Boko Haram as a supplier of drones and other logistics support. Authorities recovered two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks from the suspect, items believed to have been intended for terrorist operations.

Gubula is now in custody and facing interrogation as investigators probe his role in aiding the insurgents. Military officials emphasized that these actions underscore ongoing efforts to disrupt Boko Haram's supply chains, eliminate high-value targets, and strengthen security across the northeast region.

Operations remain active, with troops committed to dismantling remaining terrorist networks and ensuring lasting peace for local communities.
