Nigerian military says troops have killed a senior ISWAP commander, Abou Aisha, while repelling attacks in Borno State.
According to the military, Abou Aisha was killed on February 14, 2026, during coordinated attacks on Pulka and Mandaragirau.
The troops also inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists and maintained dominance across the theatre of operations.
The attacks, which were launched by ISWAP fighters, were thwarted by the troops, who engaged the terrorists in intense firefights and forced them to retreat.
Some soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force were killed in the attacks, while others sustained injuries.
The military says follow-up operations are ongoing to track down remaining terrorists.
