President Bola Tinubu is expected to travel on Monday to formally welcome Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad on his X
handle, the event will be held at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
“It is set to be a massive gathering for the progressive
family,” he wrote.
The planned grand reception comes weeks after Governor Yusuf
decided to leave the NNPP and his political godfather, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,
for the APC.
The announcement has drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians.

The official reception of the governor by the President is
expected to consolidate Abba Kabir Yusuf’s position within the ruling party.
