President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Abagun Kole Omololu, the national organising secretary of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, on his 70th birthday.
In a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga,
presidential spokesperson, Tinubu described Omololu as a man of integrity,
loyalty and unwavering commitment to nation-building and the preservation of
Yoruba cultural heritage.
Tinubu highlighted Omololu’s decades-long role in the
struggle for democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
“He was part of NADECO Abroad, which took the battle for the
sanctity of June 12 and termination of military rule in Nigeria to the
international community. Also, to date, Abagun remains a prominent member of
Idile Odua,” the statement reads.
“As a leader in Afenifere, his principled position on issues
and steadfast support for Baba Fasoranti’s leadership are particularly
noteworthy.”
He acknowledged Omololu’s well-known support for his
administration and the renewed hope agenda.
President Tinubu prayed for long life, continued good
health, divine grace and wisdom for Omololu as he enters the biblical age of
three scores and 10.
