Nnamdi Kanu's kinsmen call for his release

 

The people of Etitinabu Na Ndagbo community in Afaraukwu, Umuahia North LGA of Abia State have appealed to President Bola Tinubu to urgently release their son, Nnamdi Kanu to them.


The community which made the appeal on Saturday during a press briefing, said the continued incarceration of their son, Nnamdi Kanu has been causing deep emotional distress to his immediate family and the entire community at large.


Addressing Journalists at community hall, the kinsmen of the IPOB leader called for the compassionate review of the review of his matter to enable his release and reunion with his family and community.


Speaking on behalf of the community, Professor Ugochukwu Ogbonna, Professor Leo Obinna, Ikechukwu Ndubueze, Mrs Victoria Ngozi Orjinanta and other natives, described their people as peace loving and law-abiding.


“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is our cherished son, whose continued incarceration has caused deep emotional distress to his immediate family and to our people at large”, the press release said.


“On a final note, we call on the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR to listen to our plea today and extend a hand of love to us by releasing Maxi Nnamdi Kenneth Okwu-Kanu”, they pleaded.


The Etitinabu Na Ndagbo people promised that Nnamdi Kanu if released unconditionally will continue to conduct himself as a law-abiding citizen, adding that his freedom will help in stability of the South-East.


Kanu’s kinsmen thanked Governor Alex Otti, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and House of Representatives member, Obi Aguocha for their efforts at ensuring that their son, Nnamdi Kanu is released.


During the community gathering, the natives were seen singing and beating community’s Gong, signifying distress and lamentation
