Kunle Afod, the Nigerian actor, has broken his silence following widespread speculation that his marriage to wife Desola is in turmoil.
The rumours began circulating on Sunday after a blogger
alleged that Desola had packed her belongings and left their matrimonial home,
reportedly checking into a hotel.
The post quickly gained traction online, prompting concerned
fans to reach out to Afod for confirmation.
Taking to Instagram, Afod acknowledged the outreach and
thanked those who checked in on him.
While he did not directly address the specifics of the
rumour, he admitted to facing personal challenges.
“I want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to
everyone who checked up on me. I am fine, good, and okay,” he said.
“It was just a reflection time. It was a time to reflect on
the past. Think about your efforts and hope for a better future.
“I received different calls. Nothing happened. Nothing
happened to me. We will not hear bad news from anyone. You and I will enjoy our
lives with happiness.
“There is no time there will not be trying times. Anytime it
comes, we pray to overcome.”
Desola appeared to subtly push back against the breakup rumours in her Instagram posts.
In a now-viral video, she and Kunle are seen sharing a
lighthearted moment inside a car. In the clip, Afod playfully asks his wife to
drive him as gently as “her passenger,” hinting that all is well between them.
