The Kano State Government has announced the construction of toll gates at seven strategic entry points into the Kano metropolis to improve vehicle monitoring, enhance security, and support economic development.
The selected locations include:
Daura Road
Katsina Road
Gwarzo Road
Zaria Road
Maiduguri Road
Hadejia Road
Sa'adatu Rimi Road
These routes serve as major gateways connecting Kano to neighboring states and are critical corridors for movement into the city.Commissioner for Housing Development, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, officially handed over the project sites to contractors, signaling the start of work.
Authorities say the toll gates will act as effective control points to regulate and document incoming vehicles, helping address security challenges linked to unregulated traffic flows, including risks of banditry and kidnapping.
The initiative aligns with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's administration's focus on protecting lives and property while strengthening infrastructure at the state's key entry points.
