The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of candidates and political parties contesting the upcoming bye-elections to fill vacant seats in the Kano State House of Assembly for the Ungogo and Kano Municipal constituencies.
Resident Electoral Commissioner Abdu Zango announced the release during a media briefing in Kano, reaffirming the commission’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections.
The bye-elections, scheduled for February 21, aim to replace two assembly members who passed away late last year.According to Zango, nine political parties have successfully submitted their candidates, and the published list is now final and official.
INEC has assured that adequate arrangements have been made to accommodate voters with special needs during the exercise.
The elections will take place across 1,014 polling units in 24 registration areas, with approximately 535,000 registered voters expected to participate
