Former presidential candidate and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Peter Obi, has declared that voters must remain vigilant in protecting their ballots during the 2027 general elections, warning against any attempt to manipulate results at polling units.
Mr. Obi was in Akwa Ibom State as the Akwa Ibom State
ObIdient Movement officially joined the ADC.
Speaking on Saturday during the event, Obi stressed the
importance of electoral integrity and citizen participation.
“In that polling booth in 2027, if they don’t count it, we
count the person,” Obi said.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) has announced the timetable for the 2027 general elections.
According to the schedule, the presidential and National
Assembly elections will hold on February 20, 2027, while the governorship and
State House of Assembly elections are set for March 6, 2027.
