Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr. Saidu Aliyu Mohammed, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The visit, according to a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director General of Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, was to personally congratulate Engr. Mohammed on his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and to express the governor’s strong confidence in his ability to provide effective and transformative leadership in Nigeria’s critical midstream and downstream petroleum sectors.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the NMDPRA boss as a “worthy ambassador” of Gombe State, whose steady rise to the pinnacle of the oil and gas industry is a testament to his exceptional technical expertise, professionalism, and dedication over the years.
The governor urged Engr. Mohammed to bring his wealth of experience to bear in delivering on the national mandate entrusted to him, emphasizing the need for strong regulation to ensure stable petroleum supply, boost investor confidence, and drive sustainable development in the sector.
“As an illustrious son of Gombe State, I encourage you to continue projecting the values of diligence, integrity, and selfless service that define our people,” Governor Yahaya said.
“I am confident that your depth of experience, industry insight, and managerial acumen will translate into impactful reforms that will strengthen the midstream and downstream petroleum sectors, enhance energy security, and contribute significantly to national economic growth.”
In response, Engr. Saidu Aliyu Mohammed expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s visit, describing it as a major source of encouragement and motivation at the start of his tenure.
