Governor Nasir Idris Meets President Tinubu in Abuja


Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, where the two leaders discussed critical issues affecting the state and the nation at large.


According to a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, the engagement centered on security, economic development, and the welfare of Kebbi State residents. 


The discussions also explored avenues to strengthen partnership between the Federal Government and Kebbi State.Governor Idris emphasized Kebbi State's ongoing commitment to national progress, highlighting investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment. 


"The Kebbi State Government remains committed to contributing to national development through investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment," he stated.


The governor expressed appreciation for President Tinubu's leadership and noted that the meeting produced concrete plans to bolster federal-state cooperation in vital sectors. 


"He thanked President Tinubu for his leadership and noted that the discussions yielded plans to enhance federal–state partnership in key sectors," the statement added.


Governor Idris reaffirmed Kebbi State's support for broader national objectives, saying the state would continue backing initiatives aimed at fostering stability, economic growth, and inclusive development across Nigeria.


The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to deepen collaboration with state governments on security and development challenges, particularly in northern Nigeria where issues like banditry and agricultural productivity remain priorities.
