Dangote Group has signed a $400 million agreement with Chinese heavy machinery giant XCMG Construction Machinery to supply advanced construction equipment.
The partnership aims to accelerate the expansion of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and support the group’s wider industrial and infrastructure projects across Africa.
In a company statement, Dangote confirmed the deal will deliver a fleet of state-of-the-art machinery to complement its existing equipment.
The primary focus is on fast-tracking the refinery’s capacity upgrade from the current 650,000 barrels per day to a targeted 1.4 million barrels per day positioning it as one of the world’s largest single-train refineries once the expansion is completed in the coming years.
The equipment will also support upcoming initiatives in petrochemicals, agriculture, mining, large-scale infrastructure, and green energy projects, aligning with Dangote’s long-term vision to drive industrial self-sufficiency and economic growth across the continent.
The collaboration reflects deepening Sino-African industrial ties, with XCMG playing a key role in enabling Africa’s largest privately owned refinery project and contributing to Dangote’s ambitious $100 billion enterprise roadmap by 2030.
