A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the North-West APC Youth Frontiers, has dismissed allegations of anti-party activities levelled against a federal lawmaker from Zamfara State, Rep. Sani Aminu Jaji, describing the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.
Rep. Jaji, who represents the Kauran Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, was recently accused by some party members of allegedly working against the interests of the APC.
However, in a statement issued by its Coordinator, Malam Danladi Cika, and made available to journalists on Tuesday in Sokoto, the youth group said the allegations were a deliberate attempt to smear the lawmaker’s reputation and undermine his political standing within the party.
Cika described Jaji as a formidable legislator and astute politician who played a visible role in strengthening the APC during the 2023 general elections, not only in Zamfara State but across the North-West and at the national level.
According to the statement, Jaji engaged extensively with key stakeholders, including religious leaders, Islamic organisations in Kaduna, the Arewa Farmers Association, student unions, and emerging political platforms such as the Northern Christian Political Forum, all in support of the APC’s electoral success.
The group also highlighted Jaji’s role as Director of Contact and Mobilisation for the APC in the North-West and as a presidential return agent during the 2023 elections, describing these responsibilities as clear evidence of his loyalty and commitment to the party.
Cika further noted that the lawmaker’s philanthropic activities have had significant impact on communities across Zamfara State and other parts of the country, making it “illogical and misleading” to link him with anti-party conduct.
He dismissed the allegations as the handiwork of “failed political opportunists” who, he said, were unable to deliver results even at their own polling units.
The North-West APC Youth Frontiers reaffirmed its full support for Rep. Jaji and pledged continued loyalty to the APC leadership at the ward, state and national levels, calling on party members to remain united and focused on strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements.
