The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has formally welcomed a group of defectors from the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and other political parties into the APC fold in Katsina State.
The mass defection, announced via the party's official channels, was hailed as a strong endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership and Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda's administration.
Prof. Yilwatda described the move as a "clear testament to the growing confidence" in President Tinubu and Governor Radda, attributing it to their demonstrated commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-centred governance.
At the event, the entire Katsina State chapter of the APC unanimously passed a resolution endorsing President Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election and Governor Radda for re-election.
Governor Radda expressed deep appreciation for the endorsement, describing it as a "strong vote of confidence" in the APC's leadership at both national and state levels.
He highlighted his open-door policy as key to restoring public trust, encouraging citizen participation, and attracting more supporters to the party.
The defections and endorsements reinforce the APC's strengthening grip on Katsina State, positioning it as a solid stronghold ahead of the 2027 general elections.
