Amaechi, Wife, Campaigns for ADC's AMAC Candidate at Nyanya Market

Former Minister of Transportation Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and his wife Dame Judith Amaechi campaigned for Dr. Moses Paul (Dr. Mo), the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairmanship, during a visit to Nyanya Market in the Federal Capital Territory.

The high-profile appearance on the busy market grounds aimed to rally traders, residents, and local leaders ahead of the February 21, 2026, local government elections. Nyanya, a major commercial hub within AMAC, offered an ideal setting to highlight Dr. Paul’s promises of market modernization, economic empowerment for traders, improved security, better infrastructure, and youth-focused governance.

Dr. Moses Paul, who secured the ADC ticket following ward-level consultations across AMAC’s 12 wards, has positioned his campaign as a break from what he calls “visionless” leadership.

His manifesto emphasizes service delivery, inclusive development, and turning AMAC into a model of competence and prosperity in what he describes as “Africa’s most strategic geographical space.”

The Amaechis’ support adds significant weight to Dr. Paul’s bid and aligns with wider ADC efforts in the FCT. Recent campaign stops featuring figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in areas such as Apo Wasa, Garki, and Zone 4 reflect the party’s push to build momentum and challenge the ruling APC’s stronghold in the capital.

A victory in AMAC is being framed by ADC supporters as an early demonstration of the party’s growing strength and a potential springboard toward the 2027 general elections.

The couple’s presence at Nyanya Market signals intensified grassroots mobilization in the final weeks before polling day and highlights cross-regional backing for the ADC candidate in this key local contest.
