Alabo Tammy Wenike Danagogo, has assured Governor Siminalayi Fubara of unwavering support from the state's political heavyweights following his recent defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the 2026 New Year banquet held at Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, January 1, Danagogo commended the governor for aligning Rivers State with the federal government, describing the move as a strategic step that would accelerate progress and development in the state and nation.
“We are all behind Governor Sim Fubara in his efforts to align Rivers State with the centre,” Danagogo declared.
He praised Fubara as a dedicated peacemaker and unifier who consistently pursues peace despite facing opposition, emphasising that the governor's decision to join the APC would foster greater cooperation with President Bola Tinubu's administration.
The assurance comes amid Fubara's high-profile registration into the APC in December 2025, a development that has been hailed by party leaders as a boost for national unity and infrastructure delivery in Rivers State.
Political observers see Danagogo's statement as a sign of consolidating support for Fubara among influential figures, potentially signalling an end to previous internal tensions and a focus on governance in the new year.
