Regina Daniels says she has undergone a test to clear the allegations of drug and alcohol addiction levelled against her by Ned Nwoko, her estranged husband.
The estranged couple’s private strife erupted into public
view in October when a viral video depicted the Nollywood star in tears,
alleging domestic violence.
Nwoko fired back, claiming the actress was struggling with
drug and alcohol addiction.
Daniels later admitted to using hard drugs but accused Nwoko
of orchestrating her addiction as a method of control and manipulation.
In a recent Instagram post, Daniels shared video footage
from an unnamed hospital, showing her undergoing the test and later collecting
the results.
She stated that the test was taken to clear her name,
vehemently denying “any use of hard drugs”. She, however, admitted to using
“m0lly” for reasons she did not name.
“I was never on any hard drugs or any nonsense fabricated
online. I will sue at the appropriate time. And honestly speaking, the only
drugs I was associated with is ecstasy popularly known as m0lly. Believe it or
not, there was a reason for that,” she said.
M0lly is known to be the “pure” powder or crystal form of
MDMA, short for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, a man-made chemical drug
used in ecstasy pills.
Accompanying the video was a lengthy, reflective caption
where Daniels described the past few months as “nothing short of heavy” — a
trying season that forced deep introspection.
The actress said her decision to take the test was driven by
a need for integrity, accountability, and personal peace.
Daniels stated that the relentless narrative branding her a
“drug addict” across social media compelled her to confront the accusations
directly.
“The past few months of my life have been nothing short of
heavy. One of those seasons that tries to sit on your chest and ask, ‘so, what
are we doing next?’. It has been a major turning point, one that shook me to my
core. Everything I had ever known was drowning right in front of me. But here’s
the plot twist, I didn’t drown with it,” she wrote.
“Why? Because I was carried by overwhelming love, support,
patience, and understanding from my family, my friends, and members of the
general public. And for that, I am forever grateful. After much reflection (and
a few very long conversations with myself), I decided to take this test because
I owe it to the people who stood by me, the people who love me and the people
who look up to me.
“Integrity matters, accountability matters, peace of mind
especially matters. One thing that echoed loudly across the media was ‘Regina
is a drug addict’. And honestly? I paused, then I checked again. I looked at
myself in the mirror repeatedly, searching for this so-called addict. I
searched so hard it almost felt like I was going psychic because surely, I must
be missing something.”
The actress credited her faith and support system for carrying her through the ordeal. She framed this period as a pivotal chapter of self-discovery and growth.
