Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, says international law is only for the weak and poor countries.
In a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, Sani said that
the law is for countries without nuclear weapons, alleging that super powers
and their cronies are insulated from the law.
He also lamented that superpowers can invade, occupy and
dispossess other countries and people, threaten the judges of the International
Court of Justice, ICC, and violate the sovereignty of other countries with
impunity.
His comment is coming against the backdrop of the invasion
of Venezuela by the US forces which resulted in the capture and whisking away
of its President Nicolas Maduro alongside his wife on Saturday.
He wrote, “International law is made for poor or weak
countries; it’s law for those countries without nuclear weapons. Superpowers
and their cronies are insulated from that International law.”
