Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, says the proposed $200 million model integrated poultry development project in the state will generate more than $450 million annually and create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Sani spoke during a meeting with Idi Maiha, minister of
livestock development, on Thursday.
The governor had concluded agreements with the Chinese
government on the project in Beijing in December 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Sani thanked President Bola Tinubu
for choosing Kaduna to lead the initiative, saying the meeting was held to
align federal and state efforts ahead of the project’s groundbreaking.
Speaking on his earlier visit to China, the governor said he
toured CP Foods Layers and Eggs Ltd, where he was taken through every tier of
the company, from production to processing, packaging, and distribution, “which
showed the elevation of agriculture into an exacting craft”.
He said visiting the facility, which produces nearly three
million eggs daily, was “a defining stride toward concluding the poultry
project in Kaduna”.
Sani added that the $200 million poultry project, in
partnership with Chinese investors, is expected to boost food security, create
jobs, and establish Kaduna as a leading agribusiness hub.
