President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday hosted the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, during a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting marks the new monarch's first official engagement with the President since his installation as the 44th Olubadan in September 2025. Oba Ladoja, a former Governor of Oyo State (2003–2006), succeeded the late Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away in July 2025 after a brief reign.
The visit comes just one day after Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde met with President Tinubu at the same venue.
Details of the discussions were not disclosed, as the engagement was described as a courtesy call aimed at fostering royal and national ties.
Oba Ladoja ascended the throne through Ibadan’s traditional rotational chieftaincy system, which alternates between the civil (Egbe Agba) and military (Balogun) lines.
He had served as Otun Olubadan prior to his elevation, following Governor Makinde's approval of his appointment.
