Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has reacted to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife by United States President Donald Trump.
In a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, Gumi said
“Supreme banditry doesn’t attack villages, they attack nations and kidnap
leaders,” seemingly referring to President Trump.
Gumi has been a staunch critic of Trump, especially since
his military intervention in Nigeria.
Trump had earlier on Saturday disclosed this in a post via
his Truth Social media account on Saturday.
The development comes a few months after the US government
doubled the reward for information leading to the arrest of Maduro to $50
million, citing his alleged role in international drug trafficking.
