President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of four ambassador-designates to major diplomatic missions, marking the initial assignments from the batch of 68 nominees confirmed by the Senate in December 2025.
According to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the approved postings are:
Ambassador Ayodele Oke, designated as Nigeria's Ambassador to France.
Colonel Lateef Are (rtd), designated as Ambassador to the United States of America.
Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former Nigerian envoy to South Korea, designated as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, former Governor of Kebbi State, designated as Ambassador to Turkey.
The announcement comes ahead of President Tinubu's scheduled state visit to Turkey next week, adding strategic significance to Suleiman's posting.
In a directive to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu instructed officials to formally notify the governments of France, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Turkey of these designations, in line with established diplomatic protocols.
This move represents the first wave of postings following the Senate's confirmation late last year, aimed at strengthening Nigeria's international representation in these influential capitals.
