The Presidency has moved swiftly to dispel rumours and concerns surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s health following an incident during his ongoing state visit to Turkey.
In a statement, the Presidency clarified that the President stumbled twice while walking on the red carpet at a welcome reception in Ankara.
Officials attributed the mishap to a poorly laid blue carpet that created an uneven surface, rather than any health-related issue.
The statement emphasised that President Tinubu has since recovered fully from the minor incident and has continued with his scheduled official engagements without interruption.He is currently participating in a bilateral meeting with Turkish authorities.
The meeting is expected to be followed by a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart.The clarification comes amid social media speculation that had begun circulating shortly after videos of the moment surfaced online.
The Presidency described such concerns as unnecessary and urged the public to disregard unfounded claims about the President’s well-being.
President Tinubu arrived in Turkey as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties, expand trade relations, and explore investment opportunities between the two nations.
