The Ogun state police command has arrested one suspect in connection with the death of Fuji singer Destiny Boy.
News of the singer’s demise circulated on social media on
Sunday.
Saidat Adeshina, his mother, however, revealed that he died after battling a severe
medical condition. She added that he had been battling with seizures for the
past two years.
In a statement shared shared on its X page on Monday, the
state police command confirmed that it has commenced an investigation into the
singer’s death and has taken one suspect into custody.
According to the police, the case has been transferred to
the state criminal investigation department (SCID), homicide section, for
further investigation.
“The Ogun State Police Command has since commenced
investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known
as Destiny Boy,” the statement reads.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal
Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed investigation.
One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.”
The police did not disclose the identity, gender, or
relationship of the suspect to the late singer.
