Ogun State Launches Pioneering AI-Powered Teaching Platform 'OgunLearn'

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has unveiled OgunLearn, the state's first-of-its-kind Artificial Intelligence-powered teaching and learning platform.

The launch took place at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, marking a significant step in the state's Education Digital Transformation Agenda under the OGSERA initiative.

OgunLearn, officially known as the Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network, aims to modernize teaching and learning across schools by providing comprehensive, curriculum-aligned digital resources.

It offers interactive learning support for students, enabling self-paced study, while empowering teachers with tools to plan lessons, access high-quality teaching materials, and efficiently track student performance.

Integrated with the existing Digital Platform for Education Revitalisation (DIPER)—an advanced school management system—the platform promotes transparency, real-time data tracking, and evidence-based decision-making in education administration.

Governor Abiodun emphasized the platform's role in preparing young Nigerians for a technology-driven future. He stated: “Today, OgunLearn reflects our firm belief that every child, regardless of location or background, deserves access to quality education enhanced by technology.”

He further highlighted its broader impact: “Through initiatives like OgunLearn, we are confidently building our future together,” noting that it nurtures essential 21st-century skills such as creativity, digital thinking, analytical reasoning, accountability, and lifelong learning.

The governor also positioned Ogun State as a leader in education innovation, citing its status as the only state operating a Skills Qualifications Awarding Body and an accredited center for globally recognized digital professional training.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, recalled the state's successful use of technology during the COVID-19 period for uninterrupted learning, describing OgunLearn as a consolidation of Ogun's leadership in educational advancement.

The Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barrister Olalekan Ifede, called the platform "the future of education" and encouraged teachers to fully embrace its capabilities.

This launch forms part of a suite of reforms by the Abiodun administration, including programs like Ogun Skills Fund, Ogun Educash, Ogun Scholar, Ogun-Rehab, Ogun Teach, and Ogun-DIPER, all geared toward strengthening institutions, empowering educators, and improving learning outcomes.

OgunLearn represents a major stride toward equitable, innovative, and globally competitive education in Ogun State, ensuring students are equipped to innovate locally and thrive in an increasingly digital world.
