My priority is Tinubu’s success… not political tussles in Kogi, says Sunday Karimi

Sunday Karimi, senator representing Kogi West and chairman of the Senate Committee on Services, says his priority is the success of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

Speaking while engaging constituents from across the seven LGAs in his senatorial district, Karimi said he is not involved in any political tussle with anyone in the state.

He urged critical stakeholders to unite and work collectively towards Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

“Our priority is to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027. I am not in a political tussle with anyone whatsoever in the state,” the senator said.

“The re-election of President Tinubu is a task that must be accomplished by all critical stakeholders in Kogi state.”

Karimi urged his constituents to return to their communities and mobilise support for the president, noting that he is prioritising and harmonising their demands to ensure effective representation.

The senator commended Tinubu’s “tireless” efforts towards national development and the protection of citizens despite prevailing security challenges.

He alleged that escalating insecurity in the country is aimed at undermining the administration, urging citizens not to lose hope.

He said their challenges are being discussed at the national assembly with a view to finding lasting solutions.

The lawmaker also briefed them on the outcome of his meeting with the brigade commander in Lokoja on Wednesday.

He said the meeting focused on insecurity in Kogi west, adding that troops would be deployed to the Olle-Bunu, Jege, Odo-Ere, Idofin, and Isanlu communities.

Responding to questions on the delay in reconstructing the Kabba–Egbe road, Karimi said the Federal Ministry of Works is awaiting approval from the Bureau of Public Procurement.

“The federal ministry of works is awaiting approval from the Bureau of Public Procurement to commence the project,” he said.

“I have personally contributed N3 billion — N2 billion from my constituency allowance and an additional N1 billion — to supplement the project’s funding and expedite its completion.”
