Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for second terms in the 2027 general elections, presenting a ₦100 million cheque to fund the purchase of the President's nomination form.
The endorsement and symbolic presentation took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Square (also referred to as Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre) in Lokoja on Sunday, January 25, 2026, as part of activities marking two years of Governor Ododo's administration.
Youth representatives from all 21 local government areas of the state converged at the venue, where stakeholders praised both leaders for their inclusive governance and impactful policies in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, rural electrification, and human capital development.
They described the APC under President Tinubu's leadership as a beacon of democracy and progress in Nigeria.
State APC Chairman Abdullahi Bello commended Governor Ododo for empowering youths and providing platforms to showcase their talents, noting that the massive turnout sends a clear message of strong support ahead of the 2027 polls.
He described the APC as a party committed to youth empowerment, positioning young people as role models and nation builders.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude for the endorsement of himself and President Tinubu, emphasizing that no previous administration has empowered youths more through initiatives like the student loan scheme, youth and women empowerment programs, and others.
He described the event as a genuine coalition to strengthen the APC at both state and national levels.
The governor also lauded Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her compassion and impact through the Renewed Hope Initiative, which has benefited hundreds of thousands of citizens.
