The Kogi State Government has commissioned two state-of-the-art PH20 surveillance drones as a major boost to its security architecture and intelligence-gathering capabilities across the state.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo formally unveiled the high-capacity drones on Monday during a ceremony held at the 12 Brigade Headquarters, Chari-Maigumeri Barracks, in Lokoja.
The Governor described the deployment as a clear demonstration of his administration’s resolve to embrace modern, cutting-edge technologies in the fight against crime and insecurity.
According to Governor Ododo, the acquisition of the PH20 drones aligns with global best practices in security management and forms part of a broader strategy to enhance real-time monitoring, rapid response, and proactive intelligence operations throughout Kogi State.
The drones, equipped with advanced surveillance features, are expected to provide aerial coverage of vulnerable areas, support security agencies in tracking criminal activities, and improve overall safety for residents.
The initiative comes amid ongoing efforts by the state government to collaborate with security forces in addressing banditry, kidnapping, communal clashes, and other threats that have affected parts of Kogi in recent times.
