Eucharia Anunobi, the ace actress and evangelist, says she will sue Psalm Okpe, founder of Fresh Oil Ministry International Church, following his claim that he dated her for five years.
Okpe is the cleric who ordained Eucharia.
The controversy stems from an audio clip that went viral,
featuring Okpe and another cleric Martins, engaging in an explicit
conversation.
In the clip, the two men boasted about past sexual
relationships with Anunobi and church leader Chikere Nwafor. The discussion
also included unsubstantiated allegations of homosexuality against another male
pastor.
Okpe later issued an apology. He described the audio as
“disturbing” and said he felt “very embarrassed by those vulgar words”.
In her reaction, Eucharia slammed Okpe, calling him a “monumental global
shame”.
In a recent Instagram post, the 60-year-old actress and preacher
denied ever dating Okpe, stating the “false claims” have caused her “emotional
trauma”.
Anunobi clarified that she has remained “celibate since
being ordained into ministry nearly 14 years ago”.
While acknowledging she has been in courtships and was
engaged during that period, she insisted none involved sexual relations.
“I want to state here categorically that in almost 14 years
since I have been midwifed into ministry, I have been celibate and have been
keeping myself for the man that will be deserving of my new virginity,” she
said.
“That is not to say that I have not been in courtship or not
been engaged. Oh, I have been engaged for several years. I have been in
courtship all this time.
“But none of these men can come out and say they have had
penile penetration with me. None of them can say they have had sex with me.
That is why I boldly preach righteousness.”
The evangelist revealed she has filed a lawsuit and written a petition to the “Nigerian police and United States Security and Immigration department” over Okpe’s defamatory claims.
“I am not going to allow that to be swept under the carpet
because that malicious, vile statement has left me in emotional trauma. And it
is also a testament to his threats over the years to destroy my ministry,” she
added.
“So, I have instituted a legal action so that he can come
and prove how he dated me for five years and six months.
“My lawyers have been instructed to start the process of
writing a petition to the Nigerian police force, the US Security and
Immigration Department, against Psalm Okpe, for defamatory accusations.”
