Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Nyesom Wike, has likened Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to a weak politician, citing the governor’s inability to win the support of at least 12 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly after two years.
Lere in a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, said if the governor can’t play politics, he should go home and stay with his
wife.
Speaking on the face-off between the governor and the
assembly members, Lere narrated how the former governor of Ekiti State
manoeuvred such situation immediately he was sworn in.
According to him, when Fayose was elected as governor in
2014, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP only had one out of the 26 seats in the
state House of Assembly, but the then governor changed the narrative within a
short time.
He said that by the time Fayose “was being sworn in on
October 16, 2014, PDP had 7 House of Assembly members, with another two APC
lawmakers working with him underground. How did Fayose get SIX APC House of
Assembly members to decamp to PDP?
“In Ekiti, 9 House of Assembly members are needed to form a
quorum to sit, and Fayose got the number required.
“But someone in Rivers State can’t get 12 out of 32 House of
Assembly members to his side.
“He had 4, instead of looking for 8 more, he decided to
appoint one of the 4 as his Chief of Staff, thereby reducing the number to 3.
“How sensible??? Politics is politics and if you can’t play
politics, go home and stay with your wife”.
