Hilda Baci, the celebrity chef, has become a three-time Guinness World Records (GWR) holder after achieving the record of largest serving of rice.
In an Instagram post, Baci shared an email from Andrew
Fanning, a member of the GWR creative team, informing her that during her June
attempt to set the record for the largest serving of Nigerian jollof rice, she
also broke the record for the largest serving of rice.
Fanning said the record was achieved “proactively”, as the
additional milestone was identified during the review of her original attempt.
“It has come to our attention when comparing record
guidelines of the two record titles that when you and your team attempted and
achieved “Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice” you also achieved the
record title of “Largest serving of rice” so you have been proactively awarded
this record title too,” the email reads in part.
“Many congratulations from me on behalf of Guinness World
Records, you are Officially Amazing (again)!”
In the caption, Baci expressed shock and joy at the news,
describing it as completely unexpected.
She also reflected on the moment as a reminder of God’s
faithfulness, adding that the achievement felt like a blessing and a powerful
way to step into the new year.
“Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m
still trying to wrap my head around it,” she wrote.
“What a way to step into 2026. This morning, I was just
doing my usual routine, casually scrolling through my emails, when I saw the
message come in. I was shocked and happy at the same time, completely caught
off guard.
“Five months after the initial record announcement, I was
just finding out that there was more. Honestly, God is faithful. The kind of
faithful that still surprises you.
“This feels like such a beautiful reminder that even when
you think you’ve seen the full picture, God can still say, “There’s more.” What
a blessing, and what a way to enter this new year.”
In a blog post, Guinness World Records also acknowledged
food brand Gino as a co-holder of the record, noting that the feat was achieved
with over 8,000 kg of rice.
“The largest serving of rice is 8,780 kg (19356 lb, 9 oz)
and was achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino (all Nigeria), in Victoria Island,
Lagos, Nigeria, on 12 September 2025,” the blog reads.
The chef had earlier secured her second Guinness World
Record on September 12, 2025, for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof
rice after preparing a dish that weighed 8,780kg.
The attempt, which took place at Eko Hotels and Suites, drew
support from celebrities, dignitaries, and members of royalty.
Baci first entered the record books in May 2023 after setting the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
