Ayo Labinjoh, the mother of a teenager who recently claimed to be the daughter of Davido, has responded to the Afrobeats star’s denial.
The controversy began when the teenage girl Anu Adeleke
posted an open letter on Instagram stating she had been severely bullied due to
an unresolved paternity claim.
She asked Davido, born David Adeleke, to take a DNA test to
establish her identity.
In his response, the singer denied the allegation, arguing
that five separate DNA tests had already been conducted.
He explained that three tests were conducted at hospitals of
his choice, while the child’s mother chose the two other hospitals.
The 33-year-old singer claimed all results returned
negative, proving he is not the father.
Hours later, Labinjoh took to her daughter’s Instagram page
to respond to Davido’s denial.
She alleged manipulation in previous tests and called for a
neutral investigation supervised by the U.S. embassy.
Labinjoh claimed that she met Davido in 2013 while working
as a waitress at the GQ Club in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
She also challenged the validity of the five DNA tests cited
by Davido. She accused his former lawyer Bobo Ajudua of manipulating the
narrative around two tests.
Anu’s mother also alleged that a 2014 test supervised by
Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father, was conducted in a lab, not a hospital, where
her daughter’s blood sample was discarded, and a fake result was produced.
“I’m NOT David’s baby mama or a b*tch. David Adeleke has
largely ignored me for years because he thought he picked up a prostitute from
GQClub in Ibadan. I was a waitress and not picked up on the streets. I come
from a good home,” she wrote.
“Last time, it was his lawyer Bobo Ajudua who brainwashed
Nigerians that there were 2 tests done, and I chose the hospital. Dr Deji
Adeleke took us to a LAB not a hospital where Anu’s blood was drawn in 2014
then discarded behind our backs and fake result was printed.
“Wale Sobola was the lab technician who masked as “Dr Alex”
and a brother to Sotayo Gaga a Nollywood actress was the one who wrote an
epistle on his page 3 years ago that he never did a test for Anu and discarded
the blood drawn blaming the wickedness for his life’s travails. We wasted our
time, disrupted Anu’s mental health then they lied that we did two tests, now 5
and then he’s never met me. I’m not fighting for my daughter.
“I will request the US State Department to contact the
Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean, independent
DNA test.”
She concluded by condemning the derogatory language Davido
used while responding to her daughter.
“I will not say much for now. The language used was awful.
My daughter did not beg to be here. Saying you’ve never met me or telling your
family that I was a prostitute is wrong,” she added.
