Governor Agbu Kefas has reaffirmed his administration's top priority of safeguarding lives and property by equipping the Taraba Marshal with vital operational assets.
On Wednesday, the governor handed over 100 motorbikes and 10 Hilux patrol vehicles to the state-backed security outfit during a ceremony in Jalingo.
Representing the governor, Hon. Nelson Lens, Chairman of the Taraba State House Committee on Information and member representing Nguroje Constituency, emphasized that the equipment is designed to enhance the Taraba Marshal's ability to combat crime and maintain grassroots security across the state.
The Taraba Marshal was established specifically to bolster community-level policing and address local security challenges.
The new resources will be distributed strategically to all 16 Local Government Areas, enabling faster response times and stronger presence in rural and urban communities alike.
Commandant of the Taraba Marshal, Retired Commissioner of Police Agyole Abeh, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Kefas for his consistent support over the years.
He highlighted how the governor's actions have created a more conducive security environment in Taraba and pledged that the outfit would make effective use of the motorbikes and vehicles to further reduce criminal activities.
Hon. Lens also commended other security agencies operating in the state for their ongoing efforts and thanked residents for their cooperation with security personnel, noting that such partnerships are essential to sustaining peace.
