The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has arrested Evans Eshun, the self-proclaimed prophet widely known as Ebo Noah, whose prediction of a world-ending flood captured global headlines last year.
Ebo was apprehended by the special cyber vetting unit of the
office of the inspector general of police on December 31, according to Ghana
Crimes.
The arrest is linked to allegations of cybercrime and comes
amid heightened monitoring of online activity and public statements in the
build up to December 31 religious gatherings.
It was gathered that the police have not revealed the
specific allegations against the suspect or the nature of the conduct under
investigation.
Also, the GPS has not announced any formal charges, court
dates, or bail conditions.

Eshun rose to international fame in August after videos of
him constructing a massive wooden ark went viral.
He claimed to be acting on divine instruction, warning of a
catastrophic three-year deluge that would begin on December 25, 2025, and urged
the public to repent.
The sight of the burgeoning ark in his community drew
intense media coverage and streams of curious visitors, turning the site into
an unexpected tourist attraction.
However, last week, Ebo reversed his prophecy, announcing
that the flood had been postponed. He stated that God had granted more time to
allow for the construction of additional arks to accommodate more people.
Throughout his rise, he faced public skepticism and
accusations of exploiting believers for financial gain. Rumours swirled that he
had used donated funds to purchase a new car — an allegation he publicly
dismissed.
“There is a rumour going on that I extorted money from people. Nobody has given me money and I do not plan to take money from people. The rumour is not true. Please, I am taking money from anybody,” he said.
